D. Richard Helson, another expatriate from  the great State of Michigan, graduated from Kalamazoo College in 1980 and the Detroit College of Law in 1989.  Rick practiced civil law until beginning his tenure as a deputy county attorney in June 2008. 

Prior to practicing law, Rick was employed by the Ferndale Police Department.
