The Sweetwater County Attorney is an elected official, serving the people of Sweetwater County. The County Attorney's Office prosecutes violations of state law, both felony and misdemeanor, that occur throughout Sweetwater County.  The office also represents the county in civil matters, and the county elected officials in their official capacities.

The County Attorney's Office staff includes 9 Deputy County Attorneys, 2 part time and 2 full time Victim/Witness Coordinators, 1 Investigator, an Office Manager and 9 additional support personnel.

Upon being sworn into office in January of 2007, Sweetwater County Attorney Brett Johnson told his staff that they would work, as a team, to make the Sweetwater County Attorney's Office the best prosecuting attorney's office in the State of Wyoming
and a "World Class Organization."
