Your Preparedness Resource

The Sweetwater County Emergency Management Agency -- SCEMA -- operates under the guidelines of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Domestic Preparedness (ODP), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Wyoming Office of Homeland Security (WOHS), Wyoming Emergency Management Agency (WEMA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).  SCEMA is a division of the Sweetwater County Sheriff's Office.

Disaster Does Not Discriminate

It can strike anytime, anywhere.  A human caused or natural disaster can build over a period of time, or hit without warning.  Every year millions of Americans face disaster, and its terrifying consequences.

The Sweetwater County Emergency Management Agency analyzes the hazards, assesses capabilities, plans for the potential events then responds to, recovers from, and mitigates against, the emergency or disaster.  We coordinate with response agencies, industry, elected officials and volunteer agencies to accomplish our mission of limiting injuries, reducing loss of life and damage to property.
