The Sweetwater County Engineering Department is located in the lower level of the County Courthouse in Green River straight in from the main door. Our hours are 8:00 am until 5:00 pm with a one hour break for lunch - usually from 12:00 to 1:00.

Map Your Own Property

Sweetwater County has a new mapping website that allows you to find out information about your property or any property in the County.  All you have to do is click the map on the top left of the page and you can find out information like addresses, voter precincts and subdivision lots and blocks.  You can also check out the topographic and aerial photography maps.  While aerial maps are a good way to orient yourself on a map, they are not an accurate representation of property lines, structure placement or road easements.  The only way to ensure accurate property information is through a private survey conducted by a Wyoming Licensed Professional Land Surveyor.  If you have any questions about the new mapping website, please contact us at 307-872-3920 or 922-5428.

In accordance with Sweetwater County Resolution 00-08-EN-02, the Sweetwater County Engineering Department announces the availability, for sale to the public, of the 2000 Edition of the Official Sweetwater County Address Book.  The books cost $40.00 for a black and white book, or $120.00 for a color book.  Limited supplies are on hand.  Click on the map to the left for more information.

The Sweetwater County Engineering Department requires that one or more permits and applications be filled out and returned with the appropriate fees before utility lines can be run along or across county right-of-ways, before new roads or driveways can connect to a county road, and before a new address can be assigned.

Call Before You Dig:  Before digging or drilling, Wyoming state law requires you to contact both of this area's one-call service providers so that the location of underground facilities can be determined.  These calls should be made at least two business days before you plan to dig and apply to all construction projects, home fix-it jobs included.  The numbers for the two services in Sweetwater County are:

Both the calls and the services are free.  If you damage a buried facility while digging and did not use the One-Call service, then you can be held financially responsible for the repairs and damages, and may also face a fine of up to $5,000.
