Emergency Management Volunteer Foundation/Citizen Corps Council
The Sweetwater County Emergency Management Volunteer Foundation was formed in order to take in donations to be used for the benefit of the entities under the direction of Emergency Management. The most recent responsibility given to the Foundation Board is that of serving as the Citizen Corps Council. 

The mission of Citizen Corps is to harness the power of every individual through education, training, and volunteer service to make communities safer, stronger, and better prepared to respond to the threats of terrorism, crime, public health issues and disasters of all kinds.  Citizen Corps programis simply neighbors helping neighbors.  This program consists of four seperate programs:  Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)Medical Reserve Corps (MRC)Neighborhood Watch Program (NWP) and Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS).  The CERT Program is presently the only active component of the Citizen Corps in Sweetwater County.
