Sweetwater County’s deputy sheriffs patrol and answer calls for service throughout Sweetwater County’s 10,491 square miles, 24 hours per day, seven days per week.

In addition, resident deputies serve outlying communities like Wamsutter and
Farson-Eden. Deputy sheriffs are responsible for a broad range of tasks and duties including:


 
  • Serving papers
  • Answering calls
  • Assisting in medical calls
  • Assisting stranded motorists
  • Investigating crimes
  • Maintaining order
  • Making arrests
  • Protecting the public
  • Traffic enforcement


 
Court Security Officer Duties


Court security officers are fully-empowered deputy sheriffs with special training and experience, providing security for the Sweetwater County Courthouse in Green River, the Sweetwater County Office Building in Rock Springs, the District Court in Green River, and the Circuit Courts in both Rock Springs and Green River.
